We took the oath

We just got back from our appointment at the U.S. Consulate. It is mainly an administrative review of paperwork, but there is also a short oath we had to take on behalf of the girls. Seems unfair they didn't have any say in the matter.

Although we have been preparing them for the U.S. history exam and English proficiency test, it turns out they do not have to take them. They will automatically become U.S. citizens when we reach soil (which I take figuratively). When we land in Chicago on Wednesday the immigration official there will be the final person to process their status.

We did learn that there is a minor issue with our paperwork since there are two documents that should have matching date but do not. Our agency says they will be able to fix the issue this afternoon so we can stay on track to get everything finalized tomorrow and leave Wednesday. It would be very disappointing if that were not the case, to say the least.

Now we have a free afternoon a meeting tomorrow morning and that should do it for us here.




A little congestion made it hard for Fen to nap in her crib, even though her mom did her best to clear it. Being held in the chair helps.
