Injured Parents
I did not realize how dangerous babies can be. We have sustained a number of injuries from them and they are still, relative to us, pretty small people.
Both Mei and Fen have four front teeth. Turns out that they are razor sharp and the girls love the feeling of adult flesh between them. Mei drew blood from my thumb two days ago and then somehow, as if in coordination, Fen hit exactly the same spot the following day. They especially like to do this when in the carriers. They will gently play with your hands to lull you into unawareness and then all of a sudden, out of nowhere, you will feel a sharp pain and realize your finger is lodged between their fangs.
Stacey has a big bruise on her bicep where one of them bit down on her.
The worst part is that they seem to be gleeful whenever they do this. The harder the bite, the more satisfying.
Nowhere in our adoption agency materials did they warn about this in any way. I am going to seek some kind of compensation.

This is called teething. Don't take it personally! Just get a few small teethers for them. Surely you have experience in this arena with the pup?!?!!!
ReplyDeleteLove all of the updates. So happy for you.
